Summer League Further Postponed

Due to the continued advisories from our governing bodies and health officials, the TCUL board has made the decision to postpone registration for our summer offerings, and the start of any summer offerings, until May 1. It should be noted that this date is currently tentative and may still be pushed back further, depending upon the progress of the pandemic here in our community, the state, and US as a whole.

Since the current delays will be pushing registration, draft, and league start past our usual summer dates, there is a strong likelihood that if we are able to host our summer leagues at some point we will need to look at alternative formats (such as a hat league instead of draft), shortened seasons, potential combined leagues, different days, or flexible rosters.

We understand that this is not ideal and we appreciate all of the support shown by the Twin Cities ultimate community during this situation, but our focus right now is on ensuring health and safety in our community. Recreational offerings such as ultimate are important social, competitive, and health-promoting activities that are beneficial for our community, but they are also secondary to the broader health and safety needs being brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic.

We are currently exploring various opportunities to provide our community with ways to play ultimate once we are in a state where we can do so safely and hope that we will be able to give our players as many options as we can when we are safely able to do so.

Thank you for your patience during this time. Please continue to practice safe habits and consult with the CDC and health experts on how best to maintain healthy lifestyles during this pandemic.
