Summer League Session 2 Important Information

As we look to open registration from June 15 - July 7 for our second round of summer leagues, we have two very important changes that will be put into place for the second session. Please read below for these updates in preparation for session 2 registration.

COVID-19 Vaccination Requirement

After careful consideration of guidance from the CDC and for the safety and health of our players, the TCUL Board has decided that participants in our second session leagues must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 (see below for additional details on what constitutes “fully vaccinated”). Players will not be required to wear masks during games, but proof of vaccination must be provided when registering. If an individual is not fully vaccinated at the time of registration, but will be fully vaccinated by the start of league events, they can amend their registration with proof of vaccination or email the TCUL Board documentation of vaccination. It should be noted, proof of vaccination must be provided 2 weeks before the first game of session 2. If proof of vaccination is not provided, the individual’s registration will be cancelled and a refund issued.

Players must be fully vaccinated, as defined by the CDC, ahead of the first game of session 2 (Tuesday, July 20th or Thursday, July 22nd). A person is considered “fully vaccinated” if:

  • 2 weeks (14 days) have passed after the second dose in a 2-dose series (such as the Pfizer or Moderna vaccines); OR
  • 2 weeks (14 days) have passed after a single-dose vaccine (such as the Johnson & Johnson vaccine).

See the CDC website for additional information on the COVID-19 vaccine.

Proof of vaccination can be your COVID-19 vaccination card or a copy of the appropriate vaccination record furnished by your healthcare provider. Information on obtaining vaccination records can be found here.

New League Days/Locations/Options

After analyzing registration interest for the first session’s leagues, the TCUL Board will be modifying summer league offerings for the second session to include multiple nights and an additional field location, to make it possible for players to register for multiple leagues.

We are offering the following 6-week leagues during the second session:

  • Co-ed Recreational: This will take place on Tuesday nights at the Blaine National Sports Center (NSC) from July 20th - August 24th.
  • Co-ed Masters: This will take place on Thursday nights at St. Paul Academy from July 22nd - August 26th.
  • Men’s League: This will take place on Thursday nights at the Blaine NSC from July 22nd - August 26th.

We will have separate registrations for all three leagues. Individuals can register for either the Co-ed Recreational or the Co-ed Masters leagues, or may register for both leagues if participants wish to play multiple nights. The co-ed leagues will continue to be lottery-based leagues. Male-identifying participants that are not placed in the co-ed leagues through random selection will be placed into the Men’s league or can receive a refund. As with the first session, any male-identifying individual who registers with a female-identifying league buddy (formerly referred to as “carpool buddy”) will bypass the lottery process. A reminder that an individual’s lottery chances are equally weighted regardless of which day they register during the registration period (June 15 - July 7).

Men’s league will also be available as a first choice to any interested male-identifying participant. There is no lottery for the men's league, so any male-identifying individual who wants to be guaranteed a spot in league (or any male/male league buddy pairings that want to be guaranteed to play together) should register for the men's league.

Our hope in offering these leagues across multiple nights will provide more choices to players for league options, as well as allow participants to play in multiple leagues, if interested.
